A unique box in which you will discover the lucky seven forms of the incredibly beautiful and versatile Pálava grape variety. From the aperitif-styled Silver Pálava through dry VOC vintages to the naturally sweet Botrytis and Straw; plus a glass of varietal jelly suitable for cheese or pate.
We did not hesitate to reach into the archives to add a sample of older vintages, which are a great demonstration that even newly bred Moravian aromatic varieties can benefit from bottle ageing.
Pálava 2021 VOC Dry, beautifully fruity Pálava with a subtle touch of tangerine. This wine is golden yellow in colour with shimmering highlights, the aroma is intense, full of intoxicating tropical flowers, tea rose, sugar melon and lychee. The palate is delicately spicy and harmonious with a pleasant hint of pink grapefruit and orange. The finish is smooth, elegant and warm.
Pálava 2021, SIlver Sonberk Elegant and dry Pálava for every day. The lightest version of all Sonberk wines of the Pálava variety. Yellow color with golden edges. The scent of yellow melon, sweet spices, and rose flowers. The taste is complex, spicy, full of exotic fruits, and pleasant minerality at the end.
Pálava 2021 Noble rot Rich Golden colour with straw edges, intense aroma with hints of candied fruit, honey, and dried dates and figs. The taste is concentrated and delicate, full of sweet tropical fruits and citrus. The finish is long, beautifully balanced with juicy acid.
Pálava 2018 VOC - Selected from the archive / This wine has a light yellow-green colour with straw reflections and higher viscosity. The aroma is typically intense for the variety and resembles roses, rosehip tea, lilies, or dried orange peel. The taste is characterized by harmony and medium fullness and is represented by tones of ripe oranges and grapefruits with an undertone of dried pineapple and mango.
Pálava 2017 VOC - Selected from the archive / Wine from an excellent vintage, awarded a double gold medal in Austin and gold in Strasbourg. A typical Sonberk dry Pálava that doesn't need high residual sugar and still gets you.
Pálava 2020, straw wine Award-winning, naturally sweet Pálava. One of Sonberk's top grapes transformed into the nectar of the gods under the very roof of the winery building using techniques pioneered by Oldřich himself. Pronounced lychee and rose petal aromas and a luscious, mouth-filling texture, this wine is delicious all by itself. Alternatively, it goes brilliantly with paté at the start of the meal or with cheese or fruit-based desserts at the end. Another classic from Sonberk, certain to take the world by storm and to get better over the next decade or two.
