What was the year 2019 like at Sonberk, part three

We are on the cover of the world wine guide and with the best collection in the Czech one

September

September is the month of harvest - the real one in which we pick grapes and its celebrations. This year our fans gathered grapes and pressed the juice from them as well. Unlike last year, everything is going to be somewhat calmer, so we manage to organize, in addition to the vintage celebration, the second Sonberk´s Brunch, which was our summer holiday farewell party. Another celebration would deserve another success, but there is no time left for it - in September in Paris, there was a presentation of the guide of the most interesting wineries, as chosen by French wine lover Jean-Baptiste Ancelot. Not only did he put us inside a book. He finally put on the cover photo of Palava mountains taken from our vineyard!

October

We got great news from Prague that our Merlot 2015 dominated the rating of the Prague Wine Trophy competition in its category. A little worse is the information from our cellar, which says this wine is no longer available. There is not even his successor from 2016, so we can´t wait to release the 2017 edition. In the same month, we manage to send one new product to the market - Sonberk's juice made from our Sauvignon grapes. And we also enjoy the great praise of the leading Czech sommelier Ivo Dvořák, who picked up our winning collection sent to the Best Czech Wine Guide in the current issue of Wine & Degustation magazine.

November

The more peace there is in the vineyard, the more action we do outside of it. We continue with dinners hosted by great guest chefs. We are also at the launch of the charity calendar of the project For a Healthy Land. And at the end of November, we close the season by tasting samples from our archive with our fans and open bottles of the new Merlot. At the beginning of the month, we have a new young Moravian Muscat, but it´s so popular that it´s available just for the few weeks.

December

In the bookstores and in the wineries, the guide of the Best Wines of the Czech Republic finally appears and we are proudly browsing through it because we got an award for the best wine collection from its creators. But we are already thinking of Christmas, so we create three gift collections according to the taste of our Roman, Olda, and Dáša. And we're also planting a new vineyard. Over time, new grapes of Palava and Moravian Muscat appear.
