On the first pages of the favourite Czech professional Wine & Degustation magazine you can read the comments and recommendations of leading Czech sommeliers for individual wines. This month, however, the editors made an exception and picked up the entire winery. Sonberk! Ivo Dvořák, Vice President of the Czech Association of Sommeliers of the Czech Republic, highlighted us in the section “Wine, which has attracted me the most recently”, which made us incredibly happy. Why?
“Ivo Dvořák is one of the most respected Czech sommeliers and evaluators for a long time. What he says really matters, and even constructive criticism would actually please us. When I saw the recommendations in the magazine, I held my breath first. As I read it, I realized how successfull is our current portfolio of wines. We take it as a great honor,” says our marketing director Dáša Fialová.
Why did Ivo Dvořák notice our wines? He was one of the evaluators of the project called Guide to the best wines of the Czech Republic, where individual wineries send their collections. He wrote about us: “I would like to pay tribute not to one wine, but to the entire wine set provided by Sonberk. Sauvignon 2018, Riesling VOC 2017, Palava VOC 2017, Chardonnay & Pinot Gris 2016, Riesling Noble Rot 2017, straw wine Palava 2016 and Merlot 2016. All wines were really extraordinary and for me a truly unforgettable experience. Probably the best for me was cuvée Chardonnay & Pinot Gris, which had an incredible finesse and elegance reminiscent of large Burgundy wines.”
Of course we are pleased with such words. It inspired us, among other things, that we are preparing a limited amount of the award-winning collection for sale.
