It is a few years since a caravan with French wine lover Jean-Baptist Ancelot appeared at Sonberk. He moved all over the world from one interesting winery to another, because he wanted to get a really good picture of where people create best wines and how does it look like. After eleven years of thinking, riding and writing, the result of his work will be presented today: In Paris, just a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe, the official launch of the book entitled Wine Explorers takes place. But what is a huge surprise and joy for us is the fact that Ancelot chose the Sonberian view of Pálava on the cover of his book!
“We had ten beautiful pictures of vineyard for the launch and yours was the one choose by a jury three people – me, my wife and my publisher. But in general I have to say that South Moravia has tremendous potential,” gave Ancelot an opinion, which of course amazed us. “We, of course, always think that we are the most beautiful in our country. But when you hear it from a person who has traveled the entire world, it really warms up,” pointed out our marketing director Dáša Fialová.
Ancelot spent a total of 1500 days traveling, visiting about 500 wineries in 88 countries and tasting five thousand wines. In his book Czech Republic was given one separate chapter. “But we will be the only ones to pour our wine on the spot. Jean-Baptiste chose just 15 wines from 15 countries, so that no country was represented twice and that guests could taste all in the evening. So our cuvée Sémillon / Sauvignon 2016 will represent the whole Czech Republic,” said Dáša, who will be in Paris personally. You can look at the impressions on our social networks.
Maybe you can se a big personality of world wine business because Jean Moueix, the owner of the iconic French winery Pétrus will be there as goodfather of the book. English translation of the book should be released sometime in the first half of 2020. We will let you know about it in time ☺
