We bring home golden medals from the conference "What do the young ones like”, for Sauvignon 2017, Riesling 2015 and barrique cuvée. In the middle of the month, the vine is blooming, and so a little bit of celebration, we are launching the sale of tickets to the Sonberks Cultural Summer. There is news from the Decanter World Wine Awards, and they will all get us. We got a gold medal and 96 points for straw Pálava, two silver for Riesling 2016 VOC and Pálava 2016 VOC. For three days we are part of the largest czech “Wine Prague” fair, at a stand with colleagues from the Alliance of the V8 winery, as well as at the Vinařů Hustopečka stall.

Our wine maker, Olda Drápal, enjoys a reward for the European championship of wine football teams, where he takes bronze as a part of the Czech team. It's still hotter than usual, but a little water at the right time keeps the vineyard in the loose undergrowth in shape. We are blending Pálava VOC from the Grand Cru Sonberk series and lastly before the bottling, we racked Merlot 2016. With the approaching summer we welcome more and more guests, in the middle of the month we will host the first wedding this year, the wedding onf Jake and Svatka who now live in Netherlands and thanks to the event with Vinaři Hustopeče we are open for the first time until 9 pm.

July 7 we start the Sonberks Cultural Summer. Jarda Dušek arrives and behind him are hundreds of people who are spread out during his talk around the entire winery. Two weeks after, Sonberk's visitors Michal Viewegh and Jiří Stivín are enjoying themselves. Exactly among their performances, we are enjoying another beautiful news from another competition - Merlot received a gold medal at Oenoforum, one of the few Czech conferences and competitions held under the auspices of the International Organization of Wine and Viticulture. Temperatures set a peak. In the vineyard it's like in the Mediterranean and we look to the sky because we'd like a little water. Together with V8, we present wines at the Strahov Monastery in Prague. We bottle Riesling VOC and Pálava VOC, the tanks in the cellar are emptied before upcoming vintage.
August
Peter Lipa opens the second part of the summer. In the middle of August, we have this year's apricot jam, and the day we start with Riesling Noble Rot bottles in Magnum bottles. Director Ondřej Trojan tells a woman in advance of everything possible about the movie Toman, which later attracts hundreds of thousands of people to cinemas. Before August 20, everything is relaxed and we begin with vintage - just like the last years of the Sauvignon grapes. Still, we can not believe that the sugar content of late harvesting is already on 22 August. So we bought a lot of dry ice so that the heat doesn’t hurt the grapes. We finish the holidays with Michal Prokop Trio.
