The grapes are already rounding up, but the records from last year will not be repeated

Last year, everyone at Sonberk experienced quite a lot of stress. Nature went a little crazy and moved everything forward, so the harvest of Moravian Muscat (a variety that normally ripens first) moved three weeks ahead. This year we know that nothing like this awaits us. “Unlike last year, we are experiencing a completely normal year. Actually, we can't even talk about ripening, nature is somewhere else, and we will only start the harvest in September, ”estimates our vineyard manager Roman Slouk, who has already talked to journalists of the Czech Press Agency this year.

Anyone tends to take the current year as late, but nothing like that. It's just exactly what it should be. “The cold May, to which everyone in everyday life cursed, is responsible for that. However, for the vineyards it was very beneficial, ”adds Roman.
At first glance at the vine bushes it seems that the grape is slightly less than last year, but they should be larger. In addition, green work is slowly coming to an end in the vineyard, that is, cutting off excess parts of the bushes, and grape pickers are beginning to organize. In the year 2018, all winemakers in Moravia and indeed throughout Europe struggled with the lack of acids in berries. But we still have to wait for how this will happen to them this year.

What the weather records is our vintage, respectively farewell to summer. We have it scheduled for September 20, when the Boars of the Woods will play with us, and it seems that we will hit the evening exactly when it will be harvested. For all visitors this means that they will be able to enjoy a bit with us. Details will be released in a few days.
