When the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic struck in the spring, Lucie Hotařová, the Etiflex printing house owner in Břeclav, decided to help the Czech winemakers with their promotion. She first came up with wine carton stickers, which are on wine boxes. There is a motto "To si vypijeme" (Let's drink it), one of the slogans that should encourage domestic wine lovers to prefer those from Moravia and Bohemia when choosing. It all evolved into the whole campaign, which includes competition and also videos. Why, precisely this bottle? That's clear to everyone who's been watching Sonberk, and it's explained in the video. It is a wine awarded the title of the Best Dry Aromatic Wine of the World in 2017 at the Decanter competition. Thanks to that, it got into the magazine of the same name, which is read by people worldwide.
"We didn't have to think long about what kind of wine to send to the competition. The task was to find exceptional pieces in the wine archive, because right now we are at an exceptional time, and we want to point out that Moravian winemakers deserve attention," emphasizes Dáša Fialová.
You can get Pálava 2015 VOC by buying a carton of wines marked with a competition sticker. Thanks to it, you'll also get a unique code to log in to the campaign website. Once a month, the winner of 30 bottles of Czech wines is drawn. And in December, the lucky one who will receive the main prize will be drawn: He or she will have got a selection of the 200 best bottles from 200 winemakers.
