Cuvée combining the grape varieties Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Limited amount of bottles in Grand Cru line.
This cuvée of 70% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc makes an elegant and decent wine with a delicate aroma, underlined by aging in a 500 litres large oak barrel. The taste is nicely fruity with tones of cream, wood and milk chocolate. An ideal wine for gastronomy.
"I know Sonberk´s winemaker Olda Drápal for a very long time, in fact the longest from all staff at Sonberk, but sometimes he can still surprise me. The last time he surprised me with this cuvée, that is clearly inspired by white Bordeaux, and that not only because of the grape varieties and oak barrels used. Already the deep golden colour tells you a lot about the power of this wine. The attractive aroma brings gooseberry to your nose, along with white peach, a mix of currants and overripe mango with a touch of vanilla. A similarly broad spectrum of taste is offered when combined with meals. For me it worked very well with a grilled trout in the summer, with a roasted pheasant in the autumn and rabbit in the winter. I am already looking forward to spring..."
